Dr. Hu has specialised in cultural heritage law since 2011, focusing on international norms, national legislation, and the role of international rules in resolving disputes over cultural property and shaping domestic legal systems.
Dr. Hu has presented at international seminars on topics such as the 2003 UNESCO Convention and ICOM’s role in combating illicit trafficking. From 2015 to 2016, she studied International Cultural Heritage Law at the Geneva Summer School and the University of Toulouse Capitole, conducting research on European cultural heritage laws for her doctoral thesis, The Development of the Rights to Cultural Heritage in Europe.
Dr. Hu has also co-authored three monographs and published notable research papers.
Contribution
Dr. Hu intends to contribute to the academic project by teaching courses on the 1995 UNIDROIT Convention, at MUC Law School to explain and disseminate the spirits and principles of the 1995 Convention . She will also promote the domestic implementation of international cultural conventions, including the 1995 UNIDROIT Convention, through research and advocacy, provide workshops for practitioners, administrators, and the public to enhance awareness of the Convention, and foster international cooperation in the research and promotion of cultural heritage conventions, relying on the UNESCO Chair/UNITWIN network.
