The Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church is a young institution of higher education and research. The department of EU and Private International Law provides high-quality courses and performs comprehensive research in the field of EU law and international private law.

 

Ongoing projects

  • Research on the International Resolution of Disputes Concerning Restitution and Return of Illegally Transferred Cultural Objects.

Contribution

  • Regional Conference Series held across Central and Eastern Europe aiming to address expressly the achievements of the objectives and the influence of the 1995 UNIDROIT Convention in the countries of this European regional area.The program intends to contribute to the development of cultural heritage education and to offer better understanding of cultural heritage issues for museum professionals and practitioners on the evolving regional art market.With the participation of lawyers and other specialist practitioners, academics and government experts, the project aims at identifying particular features concerning the protection of cultural property and the combat of illicit traffic which may emerge in these countries of common historical background. It further intends to assess the impact of these peculiarities on the implementation of local and international rules adopted to protect cultural objects.
  • Dissemination of material published in relation to the ongoing research project and the Conference Series, including reports of the conferences, completed studies and recommendations for improvements and best practices.
