Ms Emma Cleary is currently pursuing a PhD in International Law, focusing on the restitution and return of removed or stolen African artefacts. Her areas of expertise include the analysis of International Conventions, Comparative Law, the protection and circulation of cultural property, colonial History and museology.
Contribution:
- Ms Cleary will contribute by sharing insights on the different enforcements of the Convention in various European and African countries through a comparative law perspective. Additionally, she will analyze the evolution of the protection of cultural objects in the light of post-colonial studies and provide ideas to improve extrajudicial procedures.
